| Output Enhancements |
|
A new output model, Dynamic Query, is now available. The where-clause and by-clause for each section is resolved at runtime, using the Query-Prepare() capability of Progress V9. This has three benefits:
All sort/select options are available even with a Progress Runtime license.
Index bracketing is optimized.
The developer can change the sort or selection criteria for a section in code at runtime.
In this model, the output set-up program can be run persistently, in its own window. The import process was enhanced to provide special processing for outputs that have stored options. Imports that affect an output with existing stored options are noted in the import log.
